Marking of Small Load Carriers – The Right Component at the Right Time at the Right Assembly Site

In the automotive sector, a smooth overall logistical process is essential. The sequencing and provision of the right component at the right time at the right assembly location in coordination with the production cycle is a challenge that can only succeed if the load carriers along the supply chain can be reliably and unambiguously identified. It is not without reason that labels for the identification of small load carriers (SLCs) have to meet very special requirements, which are specified by the VDA, among others. In addition to resistance to oils, light chemicals and acids, SLC labels must also be temperature-resistant and particularly scratch-resistant. The printed information must not be lost under any circumstances, from filling to transport and provision by the tugger train in the Kanban system to cleaning at high temperature under high pressure. For the identification of load carriers, herpa print offers particularly resistant and highly adhesive barcodes and RFID labels, which can be printed and coded according to customer-specific requirements and according to the specifications of the VDA.
